GDPR and your data rights
Your data never leaves your PC, so you exercise your rights over it by managing the files yourself — plus what to know about connected providers.
Neato Echo holds no data about you. There's no account, and Neato Ventures operates no server that receives your audio, transcripts or notes. Everything the app stores is on your own PC, which means every right the GDPR gives you over that data is something you exercise directly, without asking anyone.
Your rights and how to use each one

Because nothing is held by Neato Ventures, there's no request to file and no waiting period. Deleting the files deletes the data.
Providers you choose to connect
Two optional features involve a third party, and each has its own privacy policy that applies alongside the rights above:
- Calendars — connecting Google Calendar or a Microsoft calendar lets Neato Echo read your events. Google and Microsoft remain the controllers of that calendar data. Disconnecting in Settings → Integrations stops the sync and removes the app's access; you can also revoke it from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
- Cloud providers — if you add an API key under Settings → Cloud Providers, the audio or text you send goes to that provider under its own terms. Requests for access, deletion or objection about data they hold go to them.
If you'd rather nothing left your machine at all, leave both off — that's the default. Where your voice and text go explains the full picture.
Training
Your content is never used to train AI models by Neato Ventures, because it never reaches us. That's its own article because it's the question we're asked most.
The privacy policy
The Neato Echo privacy policy is the formal statement of all of this. If your organization needs something to file for its own compliance, that page and for your IT team are the documents to attach.
