Manual Privacy
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Nothing is sent to Neato Ventures at all — and what changes if you bring your own cloud provider key.
Neato Echo does not use your content for AI training, and it can't. Nothing you dictate, record, upload or type is ever sent to Neato Ventures. There's no account, no server side and no analytics. With the default local setup, your audio, transcripts and notes never leave your PC.
What that covers
Everything you put through the product:
- the audio you record
- the transcripts that come back
- your notes
- prompts and conversations with the agent
All of it is processed and stored on your own machine.
If you use your own cloud provider account
If you add a key under Settings → Cloud Providers and point transcription or the language model at it, requests go directly from your PC to that provider. Neato Echo isn't in the path, so your provider agreement and account settings govern training there.
Most providers disable training on paid API traffic by default, but it's your account and your agreement with them. If training policy is the reason you'd consider a cloud provider, check the terms on the key you're using — or stay local, which avoids the question entirely.
FAQ
Does connecting a calendar change this?
No. A calendar connection reads your events from Google or Microsoft so Neato Echo can remind you about meetings. Nothing is sent to them.
Do you read my transcripts?
We can't. They're on your PC and nowhere else. Support only sees what you choose to paste into an email.
Can I get this in writing for a vendor review?
The privacy policy is the document to send, and for your IT team summarizes what the app does and doesn't connect to. The source is open on GitHub if your reviewer wants to check for themselves.
